Professional Intern Staff

Dee Dee Hillman (Summer 2013-Current)
Dee Dee graduated from The Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. While attending OSU, she was also a student-athlete serving as co-captain of the softball team during her senior year. Hillman finished her career with All-Big Ten Academic & Athletic Honors, a two-time Buckeye Power Club recipient, and a NSCA Strength & Conditioning All-American. Dee Dee holds her Master's Degree in Recreation & Sport Sciences with a concentration in Coaching Education from Ohio University. She also has a CSCS and USA Weightlifting certification.
 
Jesse Padgett (Fall 2013-current)
Jesse is in his second year as a Professional Intern for The Ohio State University Olympic Sports. Jesse graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. He holds a Master's Degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania. He is currently certified through the NSCA as a CSCS, NASM as a Performance Enhancement Specialist, NASE as a Certified Speed Specialist, and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. He and his wife, Melanie currently reside in Galloway.

 

Student Intern Staff

Brian Crabtree (Fall 2014)
Brian graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in May of 2014. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitative Sciences. While at the university of Hawaii, he interned with the strength and conditioning department. Brian plans to go on to obtain a master's degree in Exercise science. He also plans on obtaining CSCS and CSCCa certifications.
 
Jake Eisenhut (Fall 2014)
Jake graduated from The Ohio State University in December of 2009 with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. Upon graduating, he earned his CSCS certification and has been training clientele in the private sector for the last 5 years. He is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting and has future plans to become certified by the CSCCa and to obtain a Master's Degree in Strength and Conditioning. Jake and his wife, Jessica, have a daughter, Lily.
 
Chris Slocum (Fall 2014)
Chris graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. While there, he ran short sprints in track and was also a member of the 2010 National Championship football team. He also received his MEd in 2014 from Houston Baptist University. Chris is also CSCS and PES certified.

 

Student-Athlete Intern

Ashlee Abraham (Fall 2014)
Ashlee will graduate from The Ohio State University in December 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition. She is a former member of the Varsity Women's Track and Field Team from Detroit, Michigan. She is a three-time Big Ten Champion, five-time All-American, and a two-time member of The Buckeye Power Club.

 

Former Intern Staff

Alex Butts (Spring 2014)
Alex will graduate from The Ohio State University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. She currently holds a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification, an ACE Personal Training Certification, and plans to earn the CSCS certification. Alex also plans on obtaining a Master's degree in Kinesiology following graduation.
 
Sara Cassabaum (Summer 2013)
Sara is a senior at Truman State University and will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science in May 2014. She is currently certified through USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Performance Coach and plans to earn both the CSCS and SCCC certifications. Her future plans include earning a dual Master's degree in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology.
 
Cory Cook (Fall 2013)
Cory graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine in the Spring of 2011. He spent the past 2 years at the University of Central Oklahoma as the Graduate Assistant of Strength and Conditioning and is currently completing his last semester of a Master's degree in Exercise Science. He is certified through USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Performance Coach.
 
Ted Cox (Spring 2013)
Ted will graduate from Capital University in May of 2013 with a degree in Exercise Science. During his time as a Crusader, he has played football and ran track for four years. He is currently working on his CSCS certification.
 
Jason Demopoulos (Spring 2013)
Jason is a senior at The Ohio State University and will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree is Sport and Leisure Studies. He currently is certified through USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and is currently working towards earning the CSCS and SCCC certifications. Jason is also in the Marine Corps Reserve, and plans to attend graduate school and study kinesiology.
 
Josh Lehman (Spring 2013)
Josh is a current student at The Ohio State University majoring in exercise science. He currently holds ACSM-CPT and NASM-PES certifications. His future plans include completing a master's program in exercise science or a related field.
 
Michael Locasto (Summer 2014)
Michael graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Strength and Conditioning in May 2014. While at Oshkosh, Michael was a member of the baseball team. Prior to coming to Ohio State, Michael interned with the strength and conditioning department at the University of Wisconsin. His future plans include attending the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, for graduate school in Exercise Physiology. Michael is CSCS certified upon verification from the NSCA.
 
Alexa Malone (Summer 2013)
Alexa graduated in May from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science Education. Her future plans include attending graduate school to study exercise science or a related field.
 
William Meckes (Fall 2011-Spring 2013)
William is in his second year serving as an intern with the Olympic Sports staff. He graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. He previously spent a year at Kent State University where he worked with football, baseball, softball, and track & field. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association and is also a certified USAW Sports Performance Coach.
 
Eddie Reyes (Summer 2013)
Eddie graduated from the University of Texas-San Antonio with a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. He holds a CSCS credential from the NSCA and is certified as a Level 1 Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. His future plans include completing a Master's degree in Exercise Science.
 
Aaron Rittgers (Summer 2014)
Aaron graduated from Capital University in December of 2012 with his degree in Health & Fitness Management. Upon graduating, Aaron obtained his CSCS and he plans on earning his USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach certification. He, his wife Ashley, and their son Benson reside in Canal Winchester.
 
Lavanya Sirsikar (Spring 2014)
Lavanya is a senior at The Ohio State University and will be graduating in May 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Nutrition and Exercise Science. She is certified through USAW as a Level I Sports Performance coach and is working toward the CSCS certification. After graduation, she plans on going to graduate school to study sports performance or a related field.
 
Matt Smith (Spring 2014)
Matt is a senior at Trine University and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in May 2014. He is currently working towards CSCS certification and his future plans include becoming USAW and SCCC certified and attending graduate school.
 
Randy L. Swain (Summer 2014)
Randy graduated from Wilmington College of Ohio in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Mathematics. While attending WC, he was also a two sport student-athlete and co-captain for Football and Wrestling. Randy finished his career with all Ohio Athletic Conference athletic honors in both sports. After graduation, Randy served as a graduate assistant for Wilmington College where he worked as strength and conditioning coordinator for the Women's Basketball and Football. He has obtained his CSCS certification and Masters of Education degree. His future plans are to obtain his USA Weightlifting certification and continue his career in the strength and conditioning field.

 

Former Student-Athlete Interns

Kara Jo Cecil (Spring 2013)
Kara will graduate in December 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Leisure Management from The Ohio State University. Kara is a current member of the varsity women's tennis team from Plant City, Florida. She also earned the Buckeye Power Club award in 2011 and 2012 and is a three-time Scholar Athlete.
 
Danica Deckard (Spring 2013)
Danica will graduate in May 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports and Leisure Studies from The Ohio State University. Danica was a captain of 2012 Ohio State University Women's Field Hockey team from Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
 
Sarah Kessler (Summer 2013)
Sarah will graduate from Ohio State University in May of 2014 with a degree in Exercise Science. She is about to start her third year with the Women's Rowing team. She hopes to go to graduate school and earn a Master's degree in the field of Exercise Science.
 
Chen Levitan (Fall 2012)
Chen will graduate in May 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports and Leisure Studies from The Ohio State University. Chen is currently a member of the 2012 MIVA championship men's volleyball team. Chen is also a Scholar Athlete from Zichron Ya'akov, Israel.
 
Jonathan Newton (Spring 2014)
Jonathan will graduate in May 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports and Leisure Studies and a minor in Exercise Science from The Ohio State University. Jonathan plays for the men's volleyball team and was a part of the 2012 MIVA championship team. Jonathan is a Scholar Athlete from Santa Barbara, California.
 
Taylore Urban (Summer 2013)
Taylore will graduate from The Ohio State University in December 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition. She is currently a member and team captain on the Varsity Women's Rowing Team from Medina, Ohio. Taylore has earned the Buckeye Power Club Award in 2013 and is a three-time Scholar Athlete.
