Notre Dame Invitational Up Next for Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team travels to South Bend, Ind., this Friday, Oct. 3, for the 5k Notre Dame Invitational.
The Buckeyes, competing against seven ranked teams in the Blue Division race, will run at Notre Dame’s Burke Golf Course at approximately 4:15 p.m. ET Friday afternoon. A complete recap will be available after the race at www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

Buckeyes Ranked Sixth in USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region
The U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association released its regional cross country rankings Sept. 30, with Ohio State ranked ninth overall in the Great Lakes region. No. 11 Michigan State is the top-ranked team in the region, followed by No. 16 Michigan, No. 20 Butler, No. 19 Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio University, Miami (Ohio) and the Buckeyes.

Ohio State finished second overall at the 6k Big Ten Preview in West Lafayette, Ind., Sept. 14.
The Buckeyes compiled a team score of 58, finishing behind 17th-ranked Michigan (18 points). Host Purdue was third with 79 points, followed by Illinois (87).
Junior Michelle Thomas was the top runner for Ohio State in her first competition of the season, crossing the finish line in a seventh-place time of 21:48.6. Junior Katie Borchers also placed in the Top 10, taking eighth overall in 21:50.3. Also scoring for the Buckeyes were sophomore Minori Minagawa (13th, 22:24.7), freshman Jill Kanney (14th, 22:25.7), and junior Nicole Hilton (16th, 22:30.5).
The Buckeyes have a week off prior to competing at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational Oct. 19 in Terre Haute, Ind.
