The Buckeyes return to action following a dominating win at the Flyer 5k Challenge Aug. 31. The run Friday will provide more of a challenge as the squad faces several Big Ten opponents on the 6k course that will host the conference championship meet in early November.
The race at Boilermaker Cross Country Course is slated for 6:00 p.m. ET. A complete recap will be available later in the day at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com.

Vergote Named Assistant Distance Coach
Sara Vergote enters her first season as assistant cross country/distance coach at Ohio State, replacing Khadevis Robinson, who accepted a similar position at LSU. She will lead a roster featuring nine true freshmen and 17 returning athletes.
A former MAC champion at the University of Toledo, Vergote spent the 2013 season as an assistant track coach at Iowa State. In her one season with the Cyclones, ISU placed ninth at the NCAA indoor championships and 13th at the outdoor national meet, while All-American Betsy Saina captured a national title in the 10000m.
Prior to Iowa State, Vergote was the associate head coach for cross country and track and field at her alma mater from 2008-2012. During her time on staff the Rockets won a pair of MAC cross country championships and qualified for the NCAA championships twice. Vergote was also a distance assistant at Manhattan College for three seasons.
