COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State women's track and field head coach Karen Dennis announced Wednesday the hiring of eight-time USA Champion Khadevis Robinson as an assistant coach. Robinson will take over the women's cross country squad and serve as distance coach for the women's track and field team.

"It is a pleasure to announce the hiring of Khadevis Robinson as our head cross country/assistant track and field coach, Dennis said. "He brings to our program success as an athlete, motivator and coach. Our process took a little longer because he was in London representing our country in the Olympic Games competing in the 800m. I believe Khadevis is the perfect fit for our program with recent success coaching the middle distance and distance women to unprecedented success at UNLV. I'm excited to have him join our staff and look forward in him assisting us in maintaining a winning tradition."

Prior to coming to Ohio State Robinson served as the head cross country coach/assistant track and field coach at UNLV since January of 2011. During the 2012 indoor track season Robinson led the distance medley relay team to a second place finish, and first and third place finishes in the 800m at the Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships. During the outdoor season Robinson guided five runners in the 800m to the finals at the MW Outdoor Championships, including the champion. He advanced one runner to the NCAA Track and Field Championships.

A four-time indoor (1999; 2005; 2006; 2007) and four-time outdoor (1999; 2006; 2008; 2009) USA champion in the 800m, Robinson also won an NCAA Outdoor championship for TCU in 1998. Robinson has qualified seven times for the World Outdoor Championships as a member of Team USA. He is a two-time Olympian having competed at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens and once again in 2012 at the London games. Robinson also was runner-up at the USA Outdoor Championships six times (2002; 2003; 2004; 2009; 2011; 2012). In his time at TCU, Robinson won four conference titles in the 800m and also anchored the Horned Frogs to a second-place finish in the 4x400 in 1998.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Robinson is a 1998 graduate of TCU, where he earned an undergraduate degree in social work. In 2004 he received his master's degree in public administration from Cal State Los Angeles.

Robinson has spent the past decade training and competing while coaching athletes from all age groups. He has also spent time as a public speaker, an educator at Santa Monica Unified School District and co-founded a 501 c3 non-profit called The Youth Track and Running Club (YTRC), training and coaching coaches for 4 years. He remains an active member on the board.
