Borchers, Ohio State Garner All-Academic Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team has been named a U. S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team and junior Katie Borchers has been recognized as an individual All-Academic award winner, USTFCCCA announced Friday.

To receive all-academic team recognition your squad must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater. The Buckeyes posted an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.52.

Borchers, a native of Russia, Ohio and an Exercise Science major, had an individual GPA of 3.59. She became Ohio State’s first cross country All-American this past fall, finishing 40th-overall at the 2013 NCAA Championship.

To qualify for the individual all-academic award one must have a GPA of 3.25 or above and also have been named an All-American or have finished in the top 10 percent of their respective regional meets.
