Ohio State Takes Seventh at Great Lakes Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team finished seventh out of 33 teams Friday afternoon at the 6k NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wis.

Juniors Katie Borchers and Michelle Thomas earned All-Regional honors for the Buckeyes. Borchers led the way with a 12th-place finish overall in a 6k personal-best time of 20:37, while Thomas was 25th in 21:00. Junior Nicole Hilton (49th, 21:35), sophomore Helen Willman (57th, 21:46) and sophomore Sakiko Minawaga (78th, 22:06) also scored for the Scarlet and Gray. 

No. 14 Michigan captured the regional title with a team score of 48. Ninth-ranked Butler earned the second NCAA automatic-qualifying spot with a score of 67. Big Ten champion and sixth-ranked Michigan State was third (73 points). The Buckeyes totaled 221 points, finishing three points out of sixth place.
