COLUMBUS, Ohio – Career-best performances from senior Minori Minagawa and sophomore Christine Frederick helped the Ohio State women’s cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the 2015 Big Ten Championships Sunday morning in Chicago, Ill.

Minagawa led Ohio State with a 27th-place finish in a personal-best 6k time of 20:54.8, trimming more than 20 seconds off of her previous personal-best time and improving 24 places on her 2014 conference finish. Frederick, competing at her first Big Ten championship, raced to a 37th-place time of 21:09.3, nearly 20 seconds better than previous PR.

Senior Helen Willman was the third finisher for Ohio State, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 21:20.1. Freshman Emily Stoodley made her conference debut with a 50th-place finish (21:23.5), with senior Sakiko Minagawa completing the scoring with a 55th-place showing (21:28.4).

No. 15 Penn State (53 points) placed four runners in the Top 15 to upset No. 2 Michigan (58 points) for the team title. Ohio State finished with a team score of 211, edging Indiana (212) and Illinois (214) for seventh.
