Wagner Earns All-Big Ten Honors as Buckeyes Finish Sixth at Conference Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's cross country team finished sixth overall at the 2012 Big Ten Cross Country Championships Sunday afternoon in East Lansing, Mich.

Meredith Wagner was the star of the day for the Buckeyes. The junior from Sylvania, Ohio, earned All-Big Ten honors with a 12th-place time of 20:41 on the 6k course. Sophomore Michelle Thomas was stellar for the Scarlet and Gray as well, crossing the finish line in 20:56 for a 21st place. Senior Tori Brink (40th, 21:18), sophomore Nicole Hilton (44th, 21:24) and sophomore Katie Borchers (53rd, 21:34) rounded out scoring for OSU.

Seventh-ranked Michigan captured the team title with 55 points. Runner-up honors went to No. 15 Michigan State (75 points), while No. 13 Penn State finished third (96). MSU’s Sara Kroll won the individual title in a time of 20:13.
