Borchers, Buckeyes Finish 25th at Pre-Nationals

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Led by a 38th-place finish from Katie Borchers, the Ohio State women’s cross country team placed 25th out of 51 teams Saturday morning at the 6k Indiana State Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
Borchers, a junior for Russia, Ohio, crossed the finish line in a 6k personal-best time of 20:55.31. Fellow junior Michelle Thomas also placed in the Top 100 for Ohio State, taking 88th overall in 21:22.09. Also scoring for the Buckeyes was sophomore Sakiko Minagawa (171st, 21:54.90), sophomore Helen Willman (211th, 22:08.42) and junior Nicole Hilton (233rd, 22:14.81).
The Scarlet and Gray closed the meet with a team score of 740. No. 5 Georgetown claimed first place with 117 points, followed by No. 2 Florida State (162 points) and No. 20 Butler (176).
