Buckeyes Take 13th at the Notre Dame Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s cross country team finished 13th overall at the 5k Notre Dame Invitational Friday afternoon at the Burke Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
The Buckeyes closed the competitive meet with a team score of 351, finishing seven points clear of Northwestern. Second-ranked Florida State won the invitational with 77 points, followed by No. 15 New Mexico (82) and No. 24 San Francisco (96).
Junior Katie Borchers cracked the Top 25 of the individual standings for the Scarlet and Gray, racing to a 23rd-place time of 17:37.7. Junior Michelle Thomas was 44th in 17:54.0 and sophomore Sakiko Minagawa 75th in a time of 18:17.0. Also scoring was freshman Jill Kanney (100th, 18:29.1) and sophomore Helen Willman (112th, 18:35.5).
Ohio State returns to action in two weeks at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
