The Ohio State women's volleyball team took a break from practice with its annual Scarlet and Gray scrimmage Saturday afternoon. Gray topped Scarlet 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-23) with head Coach Geoff Carlston switching up the teams in each set.
Senior Kaitlyn Leary and junior Erin Sekinger totaled 16 kills apiece. Junior Anna Faul totaled 11 blocks (2s, 9a) and classmate Taylor Sherwin finished with 40 assists. Junior Alyssa Winner had 24 digs, while Leary had 15.
The Buckeyes will open up their regular season at the NIU invitational in DeKalb, Ill., Aug. 30-31. The tournament will also feature Liberty, Green Bay and host Northern Illinois. Ohio State returns to St. John Arena Sept. 4 with an exhibition against the Poland National Team.
