Buckeyes Ranked No. 23 in AVCA Preseason Poll

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's volleyball enters the 2013 season as the 23rd-ranked squad in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 preseason poll, the organization announced Monday.

The Buckeyes are one of seven Big Ten schools ranked and the conference is the most represented league in the poll. Penn State (2), Minnesota (6), Michigan (7) and Nebraska (10) are among the top 10, while Michigan State (14), Purdue (16) and Ohio State are ranked among the rest. Illinois and Wisconsin are both receiving votes.

Ohio State opens the 2013 season at the NIU Invitational Aug. 30-31. The squad will face Liberty, Green Bay and Northern Illinois to start the year. Under the direction of head coach Geoff Carlston, the Buckeye lineup features three seniors in Kaitlyn Leary, Davionna DiSalvatore and Julianne Mandolfo.
