The Hoosiers battled back to lock it up at nine and the teams exchanged points until a nine-point Buckeye run led to a 22-13 lead. Hole had five kills for Ohio State in the run. The Buckeyes went on to take the set, 25-18.
Ohio State opened the second set on a 6-2 run and pushed ahead for a 9-4 lead to force a Hoosier timeout. A pair of two-point Buckeye runs set the score 17-11, but a 6-2 Indiana rally brought the Hoosiers within two at 19-17. The Hoosiers cut the Buckeye lead to one at 22-21 before a kill by Hole guided Ohio State to a 25-21 set win.
Down 8-6 in the third, the Hoosiers put together a 4-0 run for a 10-8 lead. Indiana battled ahead for a 13-9 lead before a kill by Emily Danks sent Ohio State on a 7-3 run to tie the set at 16. The teams exchanged points and runs throughout the rest of the set and, tied at 23, a kill by Haverly gave Indiana set point, 24-23. A Leary kill tied it up and a Booth/ Amanda Peterson block gave the Buckeyes set point at 25-24. Locked at 26, a Thrower service ace and a Hoosier block led to a 28-26 set win.
The teams played evenly in the fourth as the set saw 11 ties and four lead changes. The Hoosiers took an early 5-3 lead, but the Buckeyes came back to tie it up at six apiece. Down two at 13-11, a kill by Leary sent Ohio State on a 5-1 run for a 16-14 advantage. A three-point Buckeye rally pushed Ohio State further ahead at 19-15 and a kill by Leary gave the Buckeyes match point at 24-22. Indiana's Thrower battled for a kill at 24-23, but Leary sealed the win with her 16th kill, 25-23 Buckeyes.
