COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State took all four sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21) in an exhibition contest versus the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday (April 8) night in downtown Columbus at the Columbus Convention Center.
The Buckeyes attacked .248 as a team while limiting UC to an .092 hitting percentage. Audra Appold and Luisa Schirmer took care of the heavy lifting offensively by combining for 18 kills and four service aces. The pair of outside hitters also contributed defensively as Appold recorded a double-double on her 12 digs and Schirmer chipped in nine digs. Kalisha Goree and Ashley Wenz paced all players with 19 digs and nine blocks, respectively.
Ohio State hosts Miami (OH) in another exhibition spring match on April 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET inside St. John Arena. Admission is free for the event.
