COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field team opens the 2013 outdoor season at the Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C., March 14-16.
Coastal Carolina plays host to the three-day event at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Live results can be found at www.timinginc.com. Recaps will be available at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com at the conclusion of competition.
Thursday: 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. ET

Alexis Thomas earned First Team All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the weight throw at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., March 8.
The Huber Heights, Ohio, product turned in a mark of 20.66m on her final attempt to earn the first first-team award of her collegiate career and second All-America recognition overall. Indiana State’s Felisha Johnson captured the national title at 23.52m (77-2.00).
Ohio State’s other NCAA qualifier, Aisha Cavin, finished 16th in the 200m semifinals (23.66) to earn Second Team All-America honors, the third All-America award of her OSU career. LSU’s Kimberlyn Duncan went on to claim the gold medal in a time of 22.58.
Thanks to a single point from Thomas, Ohio State finished in a tie for 52nd with North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss.
Ohio State travels to Orlando, Fla., for the UCF Invitational March 22-23.
