COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Alexis Thomas and sophomore Aisha Cavin will represent the Ohio State women’s track and field team at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, in Fayetteville, Ark.
Thomas competes in the weight throw trial/final at 1:30 p.m. ET Friday, while Cavin hits the track for the 200m semifinals later that night at approximately 8:35 p.m. ET. A complete recap will be available after the meet at www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
Days: Friday, March 8 (1:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. ET) and Saturday, March 9 (3 p.m. - 9:20 p.m. ET)
Venue: Randal Tyson Track at the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville, Ark.
Coverage: ESPN3.com will be streaming both days of the championships. Friday programming begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, while Saturday coverage begins at 7 p.m. Live video and highlights will also be available through NCAA.com. A tape delay of the championship will air Sunday, March 17 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

OSU History at the National Championships
The Buckeyes have produced three individual champions in Diane Dixon (400m dash, 1983), Donica Merriman (60m hurdles, 2001) and Christina Manning (60m hurdles, 2012). In all, Ohio State athletes have totaled 29 First Team Indoor All-America honors. The highest team finish came in 1983, a 10th-place finish under head coach Mamie Rallins.
Buckeyes Ranked No. 75 in USTFCCCA Week Seven Poll
Ohio State checked-in at No. 75 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) team rankings for Division I, released March 5.
Four Big Ten teams are featured in the Top 50: No. 10 Illinois, No. 23 Michigan, No. 37 Michigan State and No. 45 Wisconsin. LSU is the top-ranked team in the nation, followed by No. 2 Kansas.
In the Great Lakes regional rankings Ohio State sits at No. 5 behind Michigan, Kent State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin.

Last Time Out
The Ohio State women's track and field team finished fifth overall at the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio, Feb. 23.
Cavin was the star of the meet for the Buckeyes, earning silver and bronze medals in the 400m and 200m, respectively, and anchoring the 4x400m relay team to a bronze-medal finish. In all, the sophomore contributed a total of 20 points to the final team score.
As a collective unit, Ohio State enjoyed balanced scoring from a variety of event areas, including sprints, middle distance and throws. The Buckeyes totaled 14 points in the 60m, enjoyed impressive performances in the 600m and 800m from Janel Olberding and Katie Borchers, respectively, and witnessed a personal-best and fourth-place mark of 21.13m in the weight throw from Thomas.
