COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior SoSo Walker won the women’s 400-meter dash at the Seminole Invitational Saturday in Tallahassee, Fla., highlighting the Ohio State track and field team’s weekend trip to Florida State.
Walker led Ohio State’s small contingent of sprinters at FSU, racing to a season-best time of 52.23, the eighth fastest in the nation this season and the No. 2 time in the Big Ten. She also ran with the women’s 4x400-meter relay team alongside freshman Karrington Winters, freshman Martha Sam and senior Aisha Cavin, helping the team to a third-place finish in 3:35.82.
Another Buckeye senior, Champ Page, represented the Buckeyes well in the men’s 400, finishing second overall in a time of 46.68. Like Walker, Page also ran in the 4x400-meter relay, joining senior Antonio Blanks, freshman Nick Gray and sophomore Jerry Jackson to produce a second-place and season-best time of 3:07.62.
• Gray continued his fast start to the outdoor season, racing to a time of 10.47 in the men’s 100-meter dash.
• Blanks produced a season-best time of 51.80 in the men’s 400-meter hurdles.
• Cavin was sixth in the women’s 200-meter dash (23.59) and eighth in the 100 (11.85).
Ohio State hosts the annual Jesse Owens Track & Field Classic April 22-23.
