COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State women’s track and field team is in Myrtle Beach, S.C. this week competing at the Shamrock Invitational.
After an uneventful first day of competition on Thursday, Ohio State’s 4x800m relay team starred on day two -- SoSo Walker, Katie Betts, Rebecca Rings and Janel Olberding placed first overall in a school-record time of 8:56.55.
In individual competition, several athletes enjoyed solid performances on for the Buckeyes. Jordan Moxley turned in a third-place finish in the high jump at 1.65m (5-5.00), while Emily Schwartz was a winner in the ‘B’ section of the pole vault (3.50m/11-5.75). In addition, Carly Pendleton placed fifth in the hammer throw at 48.09m (157-9.25).
Ohio State continues competition tomorrow afternoon.
