Abraham a Winner in the 60-Meter Dash at SPIRE

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field team completed competition at the SPIRE NCAA Division I Team Invitational in Geneva, Ohio, Saturday afternoon.

Senior Ashlee Abraham claimed victory in the 60-meter dash for the second meet in a row, crossing the finish line in 7.33. Runner-up honors went to Tiffany Ofili in 7.40 seconds.

Other highlights:


Abraham placed third overall in a season-best time of 24.04. Mahagony Jones of Penn State placed first in 23.34.


Sophomore SoSo Walker used a season-best time of 54.95 to place eighth overall. Kiah Seymour of Penn State was first in 52.72.


Junior Katie Borchers posted a season-best time of 2:09.10 to finish 11th. Brook Handler was victorious in a time of 2:06.16.

Triple Jump

A jump of 12.28 meters (40-3.50) helped junior Abie Ehimwenman to sixth place. Michigan State’s Tori Franklin captured the win with a facility-record mark of 13.39 meters (43-11.25).

Shot Put

Sixth place went to sophomore Alyssa Gary (13.97 meters/45-10.00). Akron’s Alexis Cook was the winner with a throw of 16.20 meters (53-1.75).

4x400m Relay

Ohio State ‘A’ – Walker, Neitzel, Barnes and Johnson – was sixth in 3:45.51. Penn State (3:35.31) was the first-place team.

Ohio State plays host to the Buckeye Tune-up next Friday, Feb. 21, at French Field House. Events begin at 4 p.m. ET. Admission is free.
