COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track and field team captured four event titles at the Armory Track Invitational Friday and Saturday at The Armory in New York City.

Seniors J.C. Murasky and Champ Page opened the weekend with wins in the men’s shot put and 400-meter dash, respectively.

Murasky won by more than five feet with a new indoor personal-best mark of 19.93 meters (65-4.75). The Zanesville, Ohio, native now ranks fourth in Division I in the event this season and third in the Ohio State record book. Murasky was named Outstanding Male Collegian of the meet for his efforts.

Page, a native of Marlboro, Md., picked up an easy win in the men’s 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 47.62 seconds.

On Saturday, Buckeye sprinters swept the men’s and women’s 200-meter finals. Junior Aaliyah Barnes raced to a time of 23.85 on the women’s side, while freshman Nick Gray crossed the line in 21.17 in the men’s section. Sophomore Maggie Barrie was runner-up to Barnes in the women’s final in a personal-best time of 23.99.

James Clark, a redshirt sophomore and receiver on the Buckeye football team, was fifth in the men’s 60-meter dash finals in a time of 6.82 seconds.

Ohio State placed two athletes in the Top 5 of the women’s 60-meter hurdles. Sophomore Chantel Ray was third overall in a time of 8.34, while senior Alexis Franklin was fifth in 8.37 seconds.


 

 

Barrie was fifth overall in the women’s 60-meter dash with a time of 7.53 seconds.

In the field, freshman Sade Olatoye earned fourth-place finishes in both the shot put and weight throw on the women’s side, heaving a personal-best 19.69 meters (64-7.25) in the weight competition. Junior Dylan Dyke matched Olatoye’s fourth-place finish in the men’s weight throw with a mark of 19.11 meters (62-8.50).

Freshman Mikaela Seibert turned in a personal-best mark of 12.45 meters (40-10.25) to finish sixth in the triple jump.

Ohio State’s distance runners, along with several field athletes and sprinters, competed at the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Ind.

Highlights included a fourth-place finish in the men’s pole vault by sophomore Cole Gorski (indoor PR of 5.02 meters/16-5.50) and a sixth-place and season-best time of 2:09.07 from junior Rachel Weber in the women’s 800-meter dash.
