COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field team opened competition at the Gladstein Invitational Friday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind.

60m Prelims

Three Buckeyes qualified for Saturday finals. Senior Chesna Sykes posted the top time of the day, crossing the finish line in 7.43 seconds. Sophomore Aliyah Everson placed fifth in 7.65 seconds, followed by Adenike Pedro (7.66).

60H Prelims

Junior Alexandria Johnson placed first in her heat and third overall in a time of 8.57 to qualify for Saturday’s final. Unattached competitor Cassandra Lloyd posted the top time of the preliminary round (8.45).

400m Invitational

Runner-up honors went to sophomore SoSo Walker in a time of 57.36, while sophomore Bri Neitzel placed seventh in 58.14. Purdue’s Aarin Jones took first place in 56.12.

400m

Freshman Aaliyah Barnes raced to a first-place time of 57.36.

Mile Invitational

Junior Katie Borchers (4:58.35) and sophomore Tammy Berger place fourth and fifth, respectively. Alyvia Clark of Loyola (Ill.) won the invite in 4:53.96.


 

 

3000m Invitational

Eighth place went to junior Michelle Thomas in 9:56.14. Mara Olson of Butler was first overall in 9:08.83.

Sophomore Helen Willman placed seventh overall with a personal-best time of 10:03.13. First place went to unattached runner Chanli Mundy in 9:56.04.

Pentathlon

Ohio State placed two athletes in the Top 3 of the pentathlon. Sophomore Ivy Horn used a personal-best score of 3517 to earn runner-up honors, while sophomore Jasmine Glover was third with 3365 points, highlighted by a victory in the 60-meter hurdles.

 

Events resume tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. ET.
