COLUMBUS, Ohio - Three members of the Ohio State men's tennis team joined the women's tennis team to collaborate with Buddy Up Tennis for a special clinic Nov. 17 at Wickertree Tennis Club in Columbus, Ohio. The Buddy Up program organizes clinics for residents in the Columbus, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh areas with Down Syndrome and is the only program of its kind in the nation.

The student-athletes that represented the men's tennis team include Hunter Callahan, Constantin Christ and Kevin Metka. The entire women's tennis team participated in the clinic. The Ohio State student-athletes were partnered with over 30 Buddy Up athletes.

The Buckeyes were Buddies for the program's weekly, 90-minute session, joining the participants in exercises aimed at improving fitness and tennis skills, before putting on a demonstration for the crowd alongside coaches from Buddy Up.

You can read more about the Buddy Up Tennis program at www.buddyuptennis.com and www.facebook.com/buddyuptennis.

The Buckeyes will return to the courts Jan. 19, 2013 in Morgantown, W.Va., when they take on West Virginia before beginning their spring home slate with a doubleheader Jan. 23 vs. Toledo and Cincinnati before hosting Eastern Kentucky Jan. 29, Nebraska Feb. 2 and Kentucky Feb. 12 in Columbus, Ohio.
