Blogging with the Buckeyes
Feb. 12, 2013
Hey everyone! Touching base with you all on how your favorite sports team is doing. The Buckeyes faced a real test last Saturday as we took on Nebraska at home. This match was extra exciting because it was also the first B1G match of the season for us. We fought hard but came up a little bit short against the Huskers and we're hoping to get another stab at them again later on this season.
The team has been lucky enough to have a few home matches in a row and I want to thank everybody that has been able to come out to cheer us on. There is no better feeling than to play on our home courts. The smell of popcorn at the concession stand and Larry Burkhardt's bright, smiling face as he greets us when we walk in are some of the things I'm going to miss after this season is over. Today we take on Kentucky at 4 pm at the Varsity Tennis Center. I'm always pumped to play these guys because I consider them our "out of conference" rivals.
The team travels to Knoxville, Tenn., this coming weekend to play against University of Tennessee - coach Melissa Schaub's alma mater. It's always cool to see her action shot and All-American flag flying proudly in their indoor facility. We traveled to Knoxville earlier this fall to play a hidden dual against them and a couple of other teams so we're looking to make this one count and bring back the W to Columbus.
Don't forget to come out and cheer us on against Kentucky at 4 pm! Until next time, GO BUCKS!
