COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State synchronized swimming team is set to host its first "Sync Cancer" event at 1 p.m. Saturday in McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. 1 p.m. - 1:20 p.m: Swimmer check-in at tables in the upper lobby of the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Locker rooms will be available after check-in.
1:30 p.m. - 1:50 p.m: "Sync Cancer" event program
1:55 p.m. - 2 p.m: Ohio State trio demonstration
2 p.m. - 4 p.m: "Sync Cancer" mile swim
*Times are approximate
Lanes for the mile swim will be marked according to speed, so please choose the appropriate lane for your swimming level. It is not necessary to complete the mile all at once. If you would like to take a break, please inform your lap counter so they are aware of your intention. (Note: the pool depth is 7 feet, so it will not be possible to stand for rest while in the water).
If you are sharing the mile with a friend, let your lap counter know so they are sure to combine your totals. Don't worry if you are unable to complete all 72 lengths. This event is about sharing time together for one goal - To End Cancer!
Please note: Per NCAA and Big Ten Conference guidelines, high school prospects will not be permitted to swim.
All registered swimmers were sent an email with the event specifics listed above. If you did not receive the email, please confirm your desire to participate in the swim to Holly Vargo-Brown via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION for the swim, so please be sure to register online by Friday, Nov. 1.
If you are not planning on swimming, please join us for the "Sync Cancer" event program at 1:30 p.m. to join in the fun!
