Ohio State Heads to Incarnate Word

COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio State synchronized swimming team will travel to San Antonio, Texas, to face the University of Incarnate Word this weekend in the Anne Barshop Natatorium. The Buckeyes are set to perform in routine competition Saturday and will participate in the technical competition Sunday.

The Scarlet and Gray topped Richmond with 76 points and defeated William & Mary with a season-high 97 points in back-to-back meets last weekend. The Buckeyes captured first place in all technical and routine competitions they participated in.

Julia Gaylard, Natalie Gaylard and Samantha Golomb recorded two first-place finishes in trio during the weekend, while the Buckeye duo of Alexa Aton and Jasmine Pulido took first-place honors in the duet competition of each meet. The Gray Team, consisting of Aton, Pulido, N. Gaylard, J. Gaylard, Heidi Liou, Natalie Huibregtse, Sarah House and Amrian Johnson, won the team event with 84.200 and 81.3 points vs. Richmond and William & Mary, respectively.



BUCKEYE RESULTS VS. CARDINALS LAST SEASON                                                                                        
The Buckeyes met University of Incarnate Word twice times last season. Ohio State notched a second-place finish at the U.S. Collegiate Championships, while Incarnate Word took fifth at the meet. The two schools met again at the U.S. Senior National Championships with opposite results. The Cardinals finished second and the Buckeyes placed fourth in the event.

The Buckeyes will look to defend their crown at North Regional Championships in St. Louis, Mo., March 1. Ohio State has captured 23-consecutive North Regional Championships.
