Buckeyes Set to Compete at Richmond, William & Mary

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State synchronized swimming team is set to take its first road trip of the 2014 season Saturday for back-to-back meets in Virginia vs. Richmond and William & Mary. The Buckeyes will start the weekend in Richmond, Va., Saturday to compete against Richmond. The following day, the squad will head to Williamsburg, Va., to take on William & Mary.
LAST TIME OUT - JESSICA BECK MEMORIAL MEET
Ohio State captured the Jessica Beck Memorial Meet with 93 points, sweeping all competition in the event. Morgan Boneberg, Elizabeth Davidson and Yuliya Maryanko earned first place in trio with 87.15 points, while the freshman duo of Emma Baranski and Lorraine Hack paired up to take first place in the duet competition with a score of 84.2667. Maryanko finished first in solo with 89.9 points.
The Scarlet Team, consisting of Chelsea Aton, Davidson, Hack, Maryanko, Nicholson, Katie Spada and Khadija Zanotto collected first place in the team routine with 88.1000 points. The Gray Team, made of Alexa Aton, Jasmine Pulido, Julia Gaylard, Natalie Gaylard, Natalie Huibregtse, Cory Justice, Heidi Liou and Emily Muma, finished second with 84.05 points.
2013 RESULTS VS. RICHMOND, WILLIAM & MARY
Last season, Ohio State swept all four routine events and finished first with 89 points at Richmond. Katie Spada, Khadija Zanotto and Kayley Colville topped all trio routines, while Yuliya Maryanko and former Buckeye Paige Ramsey placed first in the duet competition. Maryanko also earned first place in the solo competition. The Gray Team, consisting of Isabella Conrad, Natalie Gaylard, Julie Gaylard, Caitlin Hoffman, Kristine Irwin, Cory Justice, Jenny Mann and Heidi Liou captured first in the team routine.
The Buckeyes mounted an impressive showing at William & Mary in 2013, collecting a season-high 105 points to sweep all four routine competitions in the event. Maryanko tallied a season-high 92.000 points vs. William & Mary in her solo routine and posted a season-high in duet alongside Ramsey to capture the duet competition with 90.000 points. Ramsey, Lauren Nicholson and Chelsea Aton claimed first place in trio with 88.167 points. The Scarlet Team, comprised of Aton, Colville, Colleen Courtmanche, Maryanko, Nicholson, Ramsey, Spada and Zanotto, finished first in team with 91.667 points to complete the sweep.
Ohio State will travel to San Antonio, Texas, to compete in the Incarnate Word Routine and Technical Meet Feb. 15-16.
