COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State synchronized swimming team will host the sixth annual Jessica Beck Memorial Meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Joining the Scarlet and Gray in competition are Ball State, Incarnate Word, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Wheaton College and William & Mary.

This season’s newest team routines will be unveiled to the home crowd Saturday after the Gray Squad debuted its 2012 routine last weekend in Minnesota.

Remembering Jessica
The Jessica Beck Memorial Meet, formerly known as the OSU Collegiate Meet, is in honor of Buckeye synchronized swimmer Jessica Catherine Beck who died Sept. 15, 2005. Beck, who was 21 and a native of Richmond, Va., would have competed in her senior season in 2006. The Buckeyes renamed the OSU Collegiate Meet to the Jessica Beck Memorial Meet in her honor in 2007.

In her second year at Ohio State, Beck was a member of the Buckeye 'B' team that placed second at the North Regional championships and fourth at the Collegiate National championships. As a junior, she played an integral role in helping the OSU 'B' team regain the bronze medal at the U.S. Collegiate National championships with her flawless execution of the vertical team lift.

Beck also excelled in the classroom, garnering Academic All-America accolades for three-consecutive years. Majoring in communication, Beck was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete award winner and was named to the Dean's List.

Recapping 2011 Jessica Beck Memorial Meet
Ohio State compiled 93 points to finish first at the 2011 Jessica Beck Memorial Meet. Wheaton came in second with 72 points and Miami (Ohio) was third with 45 points. The Buckeyes finished with the top spot in each routine, including the team performance. For the complete recap, click HERE.

Cincinnati native Lauren Robinson will take to McCorkle Saturday for her last home competition as a Buckeye. The senior is an Academic All-Big Ten student-athlete who has helped the Scarlet and Gray to three North Regional Championships, three U.S. Collegiate titles and a pair of U.S. Senior National crowns.

Buckeyes Start 2012 With Two Wins
The Buckeyes are off to a great start this season with two wins already under their belt. The Gray Squad is fresh off scoring 101 points at the University of Minnesota Invitational Jan. 28 to bring home the win. In the season opener Jan. 21, Ohio State won 96-66.5 against the Wolverines in a dual.

Sophomore Yuliya Maryanko holds the top score in the solo after winning with 88.170 points in the dual against Michigan. Maryanko and Paige Ramsey put up 85.830 points in the duet against Michigan to claim the top mark this season. That winning duet added Alex Beckett for the trio routine to score 88.50 points in the same meet.

Only the Gray Squad has competed in the team routine so far this season. Krissy Irwin, Kayley Colville, Jenny Mann, Caitlin Hoffman, Lara Tutton, Julia Gaylard, Heidi Lou, Samantha Golomb, Jane Kok, and Natalie Gaylard combined for 86.66 points when they performed against Minnesota and Carleton College.
