COLUMBUS, Ohio – Behind a sweep in all four events, the Ohio State synchronized swimming team scored 90 points en route to beating four programs on the campus of Boston University Saturday and Sunday. Wheaton College finished second with 61 points, while host Boston University rounded out the Top 3, compiling 53 points. Pennsylvania was fourth (48 points) and Smith College was fifth (22 points).
The Buckeyes will return to Columbus, Ohio, March 2 to host the North Regional Championships. The competition is set to begin at 2 p.m. in McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Once again, the Scarlet and Gray captured the Top 2 places, this time in the duet competition when Yuliya Maryanko and Ramsey scored 87.500 points. The pair of Spada and Zanotto was rewarded 85.167 points following their performance.
Only one Buckeye, LaBounty, competed in the solo competition and she earned an 83.333 for first place.
