COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior Ohio State diver Cheyenne Cousineau earned the Big Ten Conference’s Co-Diver of the Week award after her performance in Ohio State’s two wins over Cleveland State and Kenyon this past Friday. The award is Cousineau’s first of her career.
Cousineau, a native of Temperance, Mich., took first on the one-meter springboard with a score 317.05 and she followed with another winning score of 297.50 on the three-meter springboard. Both event scores were NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks. Her wins helped the Buckeyes cruise to a 179.00-110.00 win over the Vikings and a 168.00-119.00 victory against the Ladies, respectively, to begin the 2012 campaign with a 2-0 record.
Cousineau returns to the diving well for her junior season after capturing a Big Ten title on the 10-meter platform at the 2012 Big Ten Championships in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team returns to action at 6 p.m. Friday in a co-ed meet vs. Denison at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
