COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rising senior Shannon Draves will compete in the 200 meter butterfly at the U.S. Olympic Trials at 8 p.m. ET tonight live on NBC in Omaha, Neb. Draves, a native of Gilbertsville, Pa., broke former Buckeye Susan Gottlieb’s varsity record in the event with a semifinal time of 2:11.00 Thursday evening.

Draves’ performance in the 200 meter butterfly follows after she advanced to the semifinals of the 100 meter butterfly earlier this week with a varsity record time of 59.84.  Draves represents the first OSU women’s swimmer to compete in an Olympic Trials final in program history. She came into the meet seeded 45th in the event.

On the men’s side, former Buckeye Elliott Keefer will be competing in the 200 breaststroke finals tonight after advancing through the semifinals with a time of 2:11.27.
