Day Two Results (Men)
Day Two Results (Women)
Columbus, Ohio— Another day, another outstanding performance by Ohio State’s divers at the NCAA Zone Diving meet. After qualifying three divers yesterday, the Buckeyes bested themselves by one, putting four divers through to the NCAA Championships today.
Colin Zeng, Stephen Romanik, and Clay White all qualified in the one-meter dive, making all three a perfect 2-for-2 in qualifying events this week. On the women’s side, Haley Allen punched her first ticket the Atlanta with a score of 629.65 in the three-meter dive, good for second place among all divers.
As he’s done all season long, Zeng paced his competition with a score of 733.90, coming in first place. Romanik’s score of 675.00 was good for third place, and White’s mark of 578.40 put him in 12th place. Though only the top-seven male divers in the one-meter dive automatically qualified, divers in the top-12 can qualify in an event if they have already automatically qualified in another. Because White did so in the three-meter yesterday, he made the cut today. Teammate Aaron Daniels-Freeman just missed out, placing ninth with his score of 608.65.
Tomorrow is the third and final day of this Zone C diving meet with competition slated to begin at 11 a.m. Live results and more can be found by clicking on the Meet Information link at the top of this release.
