Columbus, Ohio— The Big Ten Championships are here, and swimmers and divers from the No. 22 Ohio State Buckeyes are ready to make a big impact in West Lafayette this week. Beginning Wednesday, the Big Ten Championships will run through Saturday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University.

Event Schedule

Below is the event schedule for this week. Finals will begin each night at 6:30 p.m. ET and prelims will begin on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. ET.

Last Year at Big Ten Championships

In 2016 the Buckeyes finished in fourth place with 859 points, the sixth time since 2010 they earned a top-five finish at their conference championship meet. Overall, OSU claimed four individual Big Ten titles and one relay title for five total championships, the most successful year since 1991.

Ohio State at Big Tens

Ohio State has won five team Big Ten championships - all consecutive between 1982-86 under coach Jim Montrella. The Buckeyes have also won 85 Big Ten swimming, diving and relay titles.

24 diving champions; last was Cheyenne Cousineau in 2012 (platform)

12 relay wins; last came in 2016 (200 freestyle relay)

In the Rankings

In the most recent edition of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll, Ohio State sits 22nd  in the country, one of five Big Ten teams in the rankings. On CollegeSwimming.com the Buckeyes are 18th, with eight other Big Ten teams falling in the Top 40.
