Menninger Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Brittany Menninger, a member of the Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team, was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. It marks the first conference honor the Powell, Ohio, native has received during in her collegiate career.
Menninger contributed handedly in Ohio State’s recent dual meet victory over Wright State. With a score of 306.83, she claimed first in the 1-meter event and earned runner-up honors on the 3-meter apparatus (331.50). Both scores achieved were NCAA Zone qualifying marks. The win was the second of the season for the Buckeye rookie, who also finished first on the 3-meter vs. West Virginia.
Menninger and the Buckeyes will return to competition Saturday and Sunday with the Ohio State Winter Invite hosted at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
