COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming program took part in an intrasquad exhibition Friday evening at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. At the meet, Team Scarlet took down Team Gray with a score of 134-119. The winning contingent conquered eight events in the process.

Team Gray opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. Sophomore Erin Dunseith was victorious in the 1000 freestyle, earning nine points for the Scarlet squad. Moving onto the 200 freestyle, Scarlet once again edged out the Gray with a first-place finish from senior Kelly Ann Baird.

Gray responded in the 100 backstroke with junior Lauren Davis taking first in the event. The team followed it up with another victory, this time from junior Ashley Vance in the 100 breaststroke.

Former team member and current Team Canada representative, Sam Cheverton joined the Buckeyes for the 200 butterfly, which was an eventual scratch. Senior Alex Norris earned nine points for the Scarlet by touching first.

Junior Aliena Schmidtke represented the Gray squad with a win in the 50 freestyle, while senior Phoebe Cater took home the 100 freestyle for Scarlet. Baird then picked up her second individual win of the evening for Team Scarlet. After earlier placing first in the 200 freestyle, Baird then triumphed in the 200 backstroke.

Schmidtke finished the 100 butterfly in first, which was her second individual win of the contest for the Gray. For the Scarlet, Norris also dropped two wins. She claimed her second with a first-place showing in the 200 individual medley.

The meet rounded out with a win from Scarlet in the 400 freestyle relay.
