The Big Picture: Natalie is one of only three juniors on the team and she has been the team's top 1,650-freestyle swimmer for the past two years ... has seven career dual meet wins. 2009-10: Swam team season's best time of 16:55.10 in the 1,650 freestyle at the 2010 Big Ten championships ... had a win in the 500 free vs. Cleveland State, but best effort was probably finishing second in the 1000 to NCAA champ Emily Brunemann in the dual vs. Michigan, less than 24 hours after swimming the 1,000 vs. Michigan State the night before ... scored six points in the dual meet win over Michigan. 2008-09: Finished with a freshmen-class best six first-place finishes during rookie season ... swam a career-best and a team-best time of 16:53.23 in the 1,650 freestyle at the 2009 Big Ten championships ... also set career-best times in the 200 and 500 freestyles at the conference meet.
Background: Natalie was a two-time team MVP at Claremont High School ... a four-time Baseline League champion in the 200 and 500 freestyle events ... was the 2006 California Interscholastic Federation runner-up in the 500 freestyle and finish third in 2008 ... daughter of Diane Nichols and Gregory Nichols ... has one brother, Jason.
