Ohio State Athletics Announces 2017 Huntington Bucks Go Pro Class

Forty-three student-athletes will be interning this summer

As a sophomore (2017): OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten … made her first career appearance at Big Ten Championships, swimming in three events: 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 500 freestyle … placed in the Top 24 in all three of those events at Big Tens, including a high of 16th in the 200 backstroke … had a Top 4 time on the team in all three of those events as well … had four Top 3 event finishes as a sophomore

As a freshman (2016): 
Named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance in Ohio State’s Winter Invitational … placed in the top-two of all five events in which she swam in, winning the 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 backstroke; set personal bests in all five events as well … won two other events during the season: 200 backstroke (2:04.08, Oct. 30) and 200 backstroke (2:06.39, Nov. 6) … made her debut in the Oct. 23 meet against Ohio, swimming in the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Background:
Spent nine years with the Sylvania Tsunami Swim Club and one year with the Greater Toledo Aquatic Club... was a State finalist all four years at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo, in addition to being a Division I District Champion... daughter of Mike and Julie Murphy... has one older brother, Tyler.
