Ohio State Enjoying Success at the Central Zone Sectionals

Buckeyes won eight of nine events on third night

As a senior (2016-17): OSU Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten … Big Ten Champion in the 400 IM, her third career individual conference title … second consecutive B1G championship in the 400 IM … All-American in the 400 IM, honorable mention All-American in the 500 freestyle … her performance in the 400 IM marked the second straight season she earned All-America distinctions in that event; she was also an honorable mention All-American as a sophomore … won a gold medal at the 2016 AT&T Winter National Championships in the 500 freestyle (4:39.33), her second gold medal at winter nationals (2014, 400 IM) … in her final appearance at NCAA’s she swam in four events, with her sixth place finish in the 400 IM being her best as a senior … finished in the Top 5 in all four events she swam in at Big Tens: 400 IM, 500 free, 1650 free, and 800 free relay … First Team All-Big Ten … one of three Buckeyes to compete at the inaugural USA College Challenge, which pitted the Big Ten’s best against USA Swimming … won 10 individual events as a senior, including her Big Ten and winter national titles … had the fastest Ohio State times in the 200 free (1:46.29), 500 free (4:37.65), 1000 free (9:37.99), 1650 free (15:57.03), and 400 IM (4:04.09).

As a Junior (2015-16):
Earned All-America honors in three separate events: 400 IM, 500 freestyle, and 1650 freestyle … 2016 Big Ten Champion in both the 400 IM and 1650 freestyle … set new Ohio State records in the 400 IM (4:03.64), 500 freestyle (4:39.09), and 1650 freestyle (15:49.98) … her best times in all three of those events ranked among the nine-fastest in the country in all three events … placed first 18 different times throughout the season … Ohio State Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten … qualified to compete at the 2016 Olympic Trials

As a Sophomore (2014-15):
Honorable mention All-American in the 400 individual medley with her fastest time being 4:08.07... Earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors... set two Ohio State records: one in the 400 IM and another in the 1650 freestyle, for which she earned a time of 16:03.75... competed at the Big Ten championships in the 1650 freestyle, 400 individual medley, and the 500 freestyle, the second consecutive year in which she swam in those events... owned the fastest times on the team in the three previously mentioned events as well as the 1000 freestyle, which she achieved at Michigan on Jan. 24.

As a freshman (2013-14): Suited up at the Big Ten championships, competing individually in the 1650 freestyle, 400 individual medley and 500 freestyle ... also competed at the NCAA championships in the same three events ... was one of two Buckeye rookies to qualify for individual events at NCAAs ... opened collegiate career swimming the 1000 freestyle and 500 freestyle in a dual vs. Kentucky. 

Prior to Ohio State:
Member of the U.S. Junior National team after strong showing at the 2013 USA Open Water National Championship in the 10km race ... four-time all-league honoree under coach Gwen Ritzau ... league record holder in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle (2010-130 ... masters meet swimmer ... high school team won the league championship during senior year ... older brother, Tyler, was a 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist in the backstroke ... younger brother, Lonnie, plays ice hockey for Fairbanks Ice Dogs in junior amateur league.
