Olympics Bound!

Samantha Cheverton becomes the program's ninth swimmer to become an Olympian

The Big Picture: Catherine, one of just three juniors on the team, has scored points for the Buckeyes at the last two Big Ten Conference championship meets ... she has seven wins in dual meets, all in either the 100or 200 breaststroke ... competed at the ConocoPhillips U.S. National Championships in Irvine, Calif., this past August ... a biology major with plans of attending medical school, Catherine is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and an Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree. 2009-10: Catherine was 13th in the 100 breaststroke at the 2010 Big Ten championships and was part of the sixth-place 200 medley relay team that set a school record in 1:40.26 ... swam to four four dual meet wins, including a huge 100 breaststroke win in the Buckeyes' dual meet win over Michigan. 2008-09: Member of then-record-breaking 200 medley relay team that scored points at the Big Ten championship ... had two wins in the 100 breaststroke and one in the 200.
