As a sophomore (2013): Earned a trip to the Big Ten championship meet, competing in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 100 butterfly ... set a personal-best at the conference showcase in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.03 ... also dropped personal-bests in the 50 backstroke (26.37), 100 backstroke (56.49) and 200 freestyle (2:02.86) over the course of the season ... gained experience during the summer competing at thecentral zone, sectional three leg of the USA Swimming Speedo Champions Series.
Background:A team captain for her high school swim team at West Potomac ... named the team's most valuable swimmer ... captured a state championship in the 200 freestyle relay ... also finished as a state finalist all four seasons ... recognized as a two-time NISCA All-American ... would like to one day attend medical school ... enjoys photography and rooting for the Capitals of the NHL, particularly Nicklas Backstrom ... daughter of Ed and Elda Dona ... older sibling, Alex, swims for the United States Coast Guard Academy ... also has a younger sibling, Hanani.
