Fall Elite Camps set for Sept. 16 and Nov. 11 at Buckeye Field.
Aug. 22, 2012
COLUMBUS, Ohio – It’s an exciting time to be a supporter of Buckeye softball. First year head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly and her camp staff will host the 2012 Ohio State Softball Fall Elite Camps Sept. 16 and Nov. 11 at Buckeye Field.
The two camps will mark the first instructional classes under Schoenly and her coaching staff that includes assistant coaches Amanda Buchholz and Jenna Hall – a group that has played and coached in the Big Ten throughout the last two decades that has combined for more than 30 NCAA Tournament berths:
- A combined 29 years of playing or coaching in the Big Ten
- A combined 26 NCAA Regional Tournament appearances
- A combined five years of WCWS appearances
- A combined five years of professional experience
Campers will get to work on their skills at one of the finest facilities in the country – Buckeye Field (renovated in April 2009) – playing on the same grass and infield where some of the Top Division I softball players in the country compete every spring in Columbus.
These two camps will provide a full day of fun and softball. Half of the day will be devoted to instruction, drills and learning opportunities, while the second half of the day will be used to apply these skills in game situations. Experience playing competitive softball for 1-2 years is recommended (travel ball, high school softball).
