COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team will host the 17th annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic this fall, Sept. 30 through Oct. 1. Games will be played at Fred Beekman Park, located on the Ohio State campus, and Buckeye Field.
While the field of team participating is still being finalized, the event has traditionally attracted over 20 teams from Ohio and neighboring states. Admission to all games is free and donations to charity will be collected throughout the weekend at both sites.
Under sixth-year head coach Kelly Kovach Schoenly, the Buckeyes are coming off back to back appearances in the NCAA Tournament and return seven starters and three members of their pitching staff. In addition to winning 35 games, Ohio State also set a single-season attendance record last year and had the three largest single-game crowds in program history.
