COLUMBUS, Ohio – After assisting the Buckeyes in outscoring their opponents by a 37-8 margin, Ohio State senior Shelby McCombs and freshman Niki Carver garnered Big Ten weekly honors, the conference announced Monday. McCombs was tabbed as Pitcher of the Week while Carver earned Co-Freshman of the Week laurels. It is the first weekly honor for both.
The duo helped the team to a perfect 5-0 record at the FAU “First Pitch” Classic, the first time Ohio State swept its opening weekend since the beginning of the 2015 season.
