COLUMBUS, Ohio - Three members of the Ohio State women's soccer team have been named 2009 NSCAA Scholar All-East Region.

Senior midfielder Ashley Bowyer and junior defender Cassie Dickerson were named to the second team while junior midfielder Courtney Jenkins garnered honorable mention honors. All three student-athletes also received Academic All-Big Ten honors.

Bowyer, a pre-physical therapy major from Aliso Viejo, Calif., was a two-year captain for the Buckeyes starting 82 career games, the fourth-most in program history. The four-year starter was named first-team All-Big Ten and third-team NSCAA All-America in 2009. She ranks fifth on the Ohio State career assists list with 16.

Dickerson, from Kalamazoo, Mich., is an animal sciences major and captain for the Buckeyes. After suffering injuries that forced her to miss the majority of her first three years at Ohio State, Dickerson started 19 games for the Buckeyes in 2009 en route to first-team All-Big Ten and first-team All-Great Lakes Region honors.

Jenkins, also a pre-physical therapy major, is a three-year starter from Dublin, Ohio. The junior scored two goals, one a game-winner, and added an assist in 2009.
