COLUMBUS, Ohio-- The Big Ten Conference recognized seven members of the Ohio State women’s soccer team to the 1999 Academic All-Conference team - Bettina Eder (Jr., Alexandria, Va.), Mia Katzel (Jr., Ukiah, Calif.), Courtney Nein (So, Middletown, Ohio), Amanda Orr (Jr, Brecksville, Ohio), Emily Thorpe (So, Sycamore, Ohio), Katy Traeger (Sr, Littleton, Colo.) and Melanie Vierling (So, Cincinnati, Ohio). To be eligible for the selection, a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least their second academic year and carry a career grade point average of 3.0 or better.
A total of 476 student-athletes were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, 42 of which were from Ohio State.
