19 Women's Soccer Buckeyes Named Academic All-Big Ten
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State women's soccer team tied for tops in the Big Ten in 2010 with 19 Academic All-Big Ten selections, the conference office announced. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
Included in the Buckeyes' list of Academic All-Big Ten selections were Cassie Dickerson, Big Ten defensive player of the year and NSCAA first team All-American, Katie Baumgardner, named to the College Cup All-Tournament team, Tiffany Cameron, named first team All-Big Ten, and Courtney Jenkins, who earned the Elite 88 award which was given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the College Cup.
The Buckeyes finished the season with a 17-5-2 record, marking the second-most wins in program history, and won a share of the program's first Big Ten championship.
