Dec. 12, 2006
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Jon Morgan, an assistant coach for the Ohio State women's soccer team, accepted an assistant coaching position at the University of Maryland, Lori Walker, OSU head coach, announced.
Morgan's position with Maryland was effective Dec. 11.
Morgan, a native of Dover, Del., recently concluded his second season with the Buckeyes following the 2006 season. Morgan joined the OSU coaching staff in the summer of 2005 and during his time with the Buckeyes his main duties included concentrating on the attacking principles of the offense and recruiting.
"It's bittersweet," Morgan said. "I look forward to my new position at Maryland, but it will be hard to leave this university, coaching staff and team. Although it has only been two years, I have a lot of great memories."
"Jon has contributed many things to our program over the last two years," Walker said. "The University of Maryland will provide Jon a wonderful opportunity to develop his skills and allow him to be closer to his family. His spirit will be missed."
