COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State freshman goalkeeper Jillian McVicker has earned an invitation to the U.S. Goalkeeping National Training Camp held in Chula Vista, Calif., Dec. 7-10.
“Being invited to this camp is dream come true and something I have been working toward for the past four years,” McVicker said. “I am really looking forward to the camp to test my abilities against the other top goalkeepers in the country and to learn different ways improve my game.”
McVicker posted a Big Ten-best 0.57 goals-against average with a team-high 47 saves in 19 games played this season. The Metuchen, N.J., native also recorded an 8-1-2 record in goal for the Buckeyes en route to Big Ten All-Freshman team honors. McVicker was named to the All-Big Ten Tournament team and was named Defensive Player of the Tournament as Ohio State won its third Big Ten Tournament title.
The Buckeyes posted a 16-4-2 record in 2012, advancing to its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament.
Buckeye Trio Named Scholar All-Americans
