Ohio State to Play at Home in Quarterfinal Match of 2004 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament

Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio State women's soccer team (19-3-3) will play its national quarterfinal match of the 2004 NCAA Tournament at home vs. UCLA (16-6, PAC-10) Saturday at noon in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. College Sports Television will broadcast the match live.

The No. 6-seed Buckeyes defeated Tennessee (17-5-2, Southeasten Conference), 1-0, Sunday at home to earn its first appearance in the "Elite Eight" in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State has won its last nine matches and owns an undefeated 15-0-1 record at home. The Buckeyes have recorded four straight shutouts and have held opponents scoreless in four of five postseason matches, including the Big Ten tournament.

The Bruins, seeded No. 14 in the tournament, advanced through the first three rounds with a 1-0 win over Pepperdine in the first round, a 3-0 victory over San Diego in second round and a 2-0 triumph vs. Duke Saturday in the third round. The Bruins tied for the PAC-10 championship with a 6-3 league mark.

The winner of the match Saturday will gain a spot in the 2004 College Cup in Cary, N.C. Dec. 3-5.
