Columbus, Ohio - The Ohio State women's soccer team (18-3-3) will play its third-round match of the 2004 NCAA Tournament at home vs. Tennessee (17-4-2, Southeastern Conference) next Sunday at 1 p.m. in Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

The No. 6-seed Buckeyes defeated Detroit (14-8-1, Horizon League), 3-0, Sunday at home to earn its first appearance in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State topped Bowling Green (10-12-2, Mid-American), 2-0, in the first round Friday. The two wins this weekend helped Ohio State up its program-best win streak to eight matches, while also moving to 14-0-1 at home in 2004.

The Volunteers, seeded No. 11 in the tournament, also advanced through the first two rounds at home with successive 1-0 wins over Furman and UAB in Knoxville, Tenn. Tennessee finished 10-1 in the SEC regular season to win the league's eastern division and took runner-up in the conference tournament two weeks ago, dropping a 2-1, overtime decision to Florida in the championship match Nov. 7.
