Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and are available Friday at the stadium. The first 200 Ohio State students will be admitted free with their BuckID.
In 18 seasons of women's soccer, it marks the sixth time and third time in the past four seasons the Buckeyes have reached NCAAs. Ohio State is 4-5 all-time in NCAA play, all under the direction of head coach Lori Walker.
The Buckeyes defeated Michigan State, 1-0, last Friday to clinch a share of the first Big Ten title in program history. Paige Maxwell's goal in the 14th minute off assists from Lauren Granberg and Kristen Niederhaus proved to be the game-winner as Katie Baumgardner recorded her first career shutout.
BUCKS EARN BIG TEN AWARDS
Paige Maxwell earned Offensive Player of the Year Honors while Cassie Dickerson was named Defensive Player of the Year and Lori Walker earned Coach of the Year honors. Along with Maxwell and Dickerson, Tiffany Cameron garnered first team laurels while Danica Wu, Megan Fuller and Rachel Middleman made the All-Freshman team. Lauren Beachy was Ohio State's Big Ten Sportsmanship award honoree.
- The Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 32-12 and have allowed multiple goals in just two matches (Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Illinois).
- Ohio State has outshot its opponents 293-162, including 139-60 on goal.
- Sixteen Buckeyes have recorded a point in 2010. Only the 2004 (19) and 2009 (18) teams have had more players contribute offensively.
- The Buckeyes took 40 shots in the win over Cleveland State. It is the most shots in a game for the Buckeyes going back through the 2003 season and 10 short of the program record of 50 set in a 14-0 win over Robert Morris in 1995. The 40 shots also mark the second-most by any Big Ten team in a game this season.
BUCKS IN THE BIG TEN
- As a team, Ohio State finished the season in the Top 3 in the Big Ten in points, (103, 3rd), goals (32, t-3rd), assists (39, 2nd), goals allowed (12, 2nd), goals-against average (0.62, 2nd), shutouts (9, t-3rd) and corner kicks (121, 2nd). The Buckeyes' goals-against average ranks 16th nationally.
- The Buckeyes also rank second the Big Ten in scoring margin, outscoring their opponents by 1.05 goals per game.
- Paige Maxwell tied for second in the conference with 10 goals and tied for first with five game-winning goals. She led the Big Ten with eight goals and with five game-winners in Big Ten play.
- Three Buckeyes rank in the Top 10 in the conference in assists: Lauren Steuer (8, 2nd), Tiffany Cameron (5, t-8th) and Liz Sullivan (5, t-8th).
- Rachel Middleman ranked second in the conference with a 0.55 goals-against average and tied for third with six shutouts. Her goals-against average ranks 11th nationally.
DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN
The Buckeyes' 14-4-1 regular season is the second-best in school history. The 2010 team is tied with the 1996 and 2009 teams for the second-most wins in program history behind the 2004 squad's 19 wins.
BUCKEYES IN THE RANKINGS
Ohio State appears in the final regular season National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll at the 17th spot and tops in the Great Lakes region. The Buckeyes are 19th in the rankings by Soccer America, tied for 18th by SoccerTimes.com and 14th by TopDrawerSoccer.com. The only Big Ten team ranked higher in the NSCAA poll is Illinois (13th) while Wisconsin, Minnesota, Penn State and Michigan are receiving votes.
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH
Under head coach Brenda van Stralen, the Red Flash posted a 15-4-2 record overall, 8-2-0 in the Northeast Conference. The Red Flash also won the Northeast Conference Championship by defeating Long Island 1-0 in the championship game. This is the first tournament appearance and conference championship for St. Francis in the program's 25-year history.
The match is the first between the Buckeyes and Red Flash.
SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Under head coach Kelly Cagle, the Hokies posted a 10-9-1 record overall, 4-6-1 in the ACC. Virginia Tech lost to No. 3 North Carolina in the ACC championship game. This is the third consecutive tournament appearance for the Hokies after they advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2009, the furthest they have ever advanced in a tournament.
The Buckeyes hold a 1-0 lead in the all-time series, defeating the Hokies 4-1 in 2004.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Under the guidance of 16th-year head coach Mike Tucker, the Dayton Flyers posted an 18-3-0 overall record, 8-1-0 in the Atlantic 10, while claiming the seventh A10 tournament title in school history. This will be the Flyers' seventh trip to the NCAA tournament, all with Tucker at the helm.
The Buckeyes hold a 7-1 lead in the all-time series after defeating the Flyers 1-0 in Dayton earlier this season.
THE COACHING STAFF
Ohio State is under the direction of 14th-year head coach Lori Walker. She has guided the team to six NCAA tournament berths (2002-03-04-07-09-10) as well as two Big Ten tournament championships (2002 and 2004). Greg Miller is in his third season as associate head coach and 10th overall with the Buckeyes. The 2010 season marks the third season for assistant coach Glen Tourville and the first for student assistant coach Lauren Robertson.
BUCKEYES IN THE RPI
In the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) rankings published by the NCAA Nov. 7, Ohio State sits 12th nationally and tops in the Big Ten ahead of 22nd-ranked Wisconsin, 35th-ranked Illinois, and 38th-ranked Minnesota.
BAUMGARDNER EARNS FIRST POW
Ohio State junior goalkeeper Katie Baumgardner was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week following a 1-0 shutout victory over Michigan State Nov. 5, clinching a share of the first Big Ten championship in program history. The award is the first of Baumgardner's career as she made three saves to lower her season goals-against average to 0.81 and recorded the first shutout of her career.
MIDDLEMAN FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Goalkeeper Rachel Middleman was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Oct. 18 after the Buckeyes knocked off Wisconsin and No. 15 Minnesota. The Mars, Pa., native recorded her sixth shutout of the season and fourth in Big Ten play, making three saves in the Buckeyes' 1-0 victory over Wisconsin Friday. Middleman came back Sunday to record the win in a come-from-behind 2-1 overtime victory over No. 15 Minnesota Sunday afternoon.
MAXWELL PICKS UP POW #2 OF 2010
Junior forward Paige Maxwell was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks after scoring a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Buckeyes' 3-1 victory at Iowa Oct. 8. She came back and scored the game-winner in the 99th minute of a 1-0 overtime win at Northwestern Oct. 10. The Medina, Ohio, native also was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com team of the week.

Junior forward Paige Maxwell was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 27 after scoring the game-winner in the 85th minute of the Buckeyes' 2-0 win over Michigan Sept. 26.

Junior forward Caitlyn Martin was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 13 after scoring both Ohio State goals in a 2-0 win over Cleveland State Sept. 8.
MIDDLEMAN NAMED TOP FRESHMAN
Goalkeeper Rachel Middleman was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Sept. 6 after 165 scoreless minutes in goal in a pair of shutout victories over Dayton and Akron.
GRANBERG NAMED BIG TEN POW
Sophomore Lauren Granberg was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Aug. 30 after her two-goal effort against West Virginia. She scored both the game-tying and game-winning goals just over a minute apart against the Mountaineers. The Edmonton, Alberta, native also was named a collegesoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week for her efforts.

A CANADIAN INFLUENCE
The three Canadians on the Ohio State roster have played a huge role in 2010. Tiffany Cameron (5g, 5a) and Lauren Granberg (4g, 2a) are joined by a third Canadian, freshman Danica Wu (1g, 2a), has played in all 19 games and started 16 in the midfield.
DICKERSON ON M.A.C. HERMANN LIST
Defender Cassie Dickerson was named to the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy watch list, the Missouri Athletic Club announced.
The senior from Kalamazoo, Mich., was named a first team All-Big Ten and All-Great Lakes Region selection in 2009 after starting 19 games at center back for the Buckeyes. A Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree, the three-time captain played the second-most minutes on the team, scoring a goal and adding a pair of assists on the season.
It marks the second time in program history a Buckeye was named to the Hermann Trophy watch list after Lara Dickenmann was selected in 2007. The award is considered the highest individual honor in collegiate soccer.
Cassie Dickerson was named a team captain for the third-consecutive season and is joined by defenders Lauren Beachy and Danielle Scoliere. The trio has combined for 156 career starts.
AT HOME AT JESSE OWENS
Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium has proved to be a more than advantageous home for the Buckeyes in its 11 years of existence. Consider:
- The home team is 81-33-10 all-time.
- Ohio State is 62-16-8 since 2003 and 37-11-4 since 2006.
- The Buckeyes went 9-2-0 at home in 2009 and are 7-2-1 in 2010.
